Fans know to expect at least two things from any Marvel movie: a post-credits scene and lots of CGI. (Purple men can't conquer the universe with magical stones without little from a skilled special effects team.) And today we have a video that combines both of these things. Avengers: Infinity War had a ton of CGI utilized in almost every shot and the post-credits scene with Nick Fury was no different. Any Marvel fan knows that they have to stick around until well after the movie is over before they can leave the theater. There's always a post-credits scene, and that wasn't any different for Avengers: Infinity War. Those still shell-shocked from the ending were treated to one last scene with Nick Fury and Maria Hill sending out a distress signal to Captain Marvel before they and the world around them disintegrated. Rise is a Berlin-based visual effects studio that has worked on a number of movies over the years and their Marvel world includes Doctor Strange, Ant-Man and The Wasp, and Avengers: Age of Ultron. They were also one of the production houses to contribute work to Infinity War and the company showed off a few of its scenes from the blockbuster. In addition to some scenes set at Wakanda, Rise also worked on the post-credit scene and as you can see it had a lot of special effects. The entire street while Nick Fury and Maria Hill were driving was CGI, in addition to a few other small touches.
They also notably break down what the characters look like as they are turned to dust after Thanos' snap. There's obviously a lot of detail that goes into this part, and it's nuts to look at a freeze frame of the dusting and see all the different particles floating off. Pray that they don't release a breakdown of Spider-Man's big scene and send us back into sadness.
It's definitely an impressive display of visual craftsmanship, which you can watch to your heart's content in Avengers: Infinity War. The hugely successful blockbuster is now out on 4KHD and Blu-ray, in addition to Digital HD, so you pause it to gander at all the little details as much as you want.
